SERIOUSLY COMMITTED TO EXPANDING CONSCIOUSNESS

The Power of Unwavering Commitment in Spiritual Evolution

What does it truly mean to be seriously committed to something? We see commitment in many areas of life—parenting, careers, fitness, and relationships—but when it comes to expanding consciousness, commitment takes on an entirely new depth. It’s not just about effort; it’s about devotion, resilience, and an unwavering willingness to face whatever arises on the path to higher awareness.

What Are You Seriously Committed To?

Thinking about your life—what have you been seriously committed to?

Was it a relationship, being a Mum/Dad, a business or artistic pursuit, financial freedom, or maybe even your health?

When you’re truly committed, notice how obstacles don’t stop you. You don’t quit at the first or hundredth sign of difficulty. You adapt, you learn, and you keep moving. You don’t wait for motivation; you act because you have decided that this is the path you are on - the only way is through.

With this level of commitment, there is a power and energy that is inextinguishable—like a dog with a bone, an artist obsessing over their craft, an athlete training tirelessly for an impossible goal or a seeker sitting for hours in silence.

Being Seriously Committed Means:

  • You show up no matter what. It’s not about convenience; it’s about dedication.

  • You stay the course even when it’s hard. Fear, setbacks, and discomfort don’t deter you.

  • You don’t dabble; you embody it. It’s not just an interest—it’s part of who you are.

  • You take responsibility for the results—no blaming, no excuses—just commitment.

  • Paradoxically, the effort becomes effortless. There’s no force, only power.

What Serious Commitment Is Not

  • It’s not conditional. It’s not, “I’ll do this as long as it’s easy.”

  • It’s not passive. You don’t wait for external validation or ideal circumstances.

  • It’s not half-hearted. You don’t just “try” when you feel like it.

  • And it’s not about being serious in a heavy way. True commitment brings joy, flow, and lightness—because it’s aligned with truth.

When Commitment Becomes Non-Negotiable

If someone says they want to get in shape but never change their habits, are they truly committed? Probably not.

But if that same person goes to the doctor and is told, "If you don’t take your health seriously, you won’t be here in five years," suddenly, they find a new level of energy, focus, determination, and action - now they are seriously committed.

The same happens with money. A financially comfortable person may never take real action to build wealth. But if they were born into poverty, or hit rock bottom in their life—chased by creditors, struggling to survive—they might suddenly find a new gear inside of themselves, rising from nothing, never to return to that place again.

History is full of stories of people who became incredibly successful from having nothing or after losing everything. Their commitment was always there—it just needed to be awakened.

Now, let’s take this deeper.

What About Your Spiritual Evolution?

I don’t know about you, but my childhood—while filled with happy moments—was tough. An absent and troubled father, a loving but hurt mother, and siblings shaped by an unsafe home environment.

Through repeated failures in my twenties, constant drama in relationships, anxiety, insecurity, low self-esteem, and failure in nearly every pursuit, despite some success life showed me how bankrupt I truly was.

It felt chaotic, messy and very confusing—because something inside me always knew this wasn’t the truth of who I was or what life was all about. Despite everything, I was naturally happy, generous, kind and optimistic. Something wasn’t adding up.

Then, in 2009, everything changed. The power of pure consciousness hit me for the first time, and truth—in all its obliterating glory—revealed itself. At first it was utterly devastating until I became aware and woke up from the long sleep.

From that moment, I was seriously committed to more of this ‘truth’. I had always been seriously committed—I just wasn’t quite sure as to what. That moment of realization changed everything.

Every action, every decision, every release, every surrender, every profound experience that followed has been guided by that single commitment to truth and the freedom and power it gave me.

Who Do You Know That Is Seriously Committed?

Think of people you know who are truly committed to something. What stands out about them?

Maybe it’s a musician who has dedicated thousands of hours to their craft. Maybe it’s an athlete who trains relentlessly, pushing past their limits. Maybe it’s an entrepreneur who risked everything to bring their vision to life.

There’s something inspiring about those who are truly committed. They move mountains, not because they have it easy, but because they have decided that nothing will stop them.

Their aura feels energising and uplifting—we are naturally drawn to people like that. Their presence ignites something in us, reminding us of what’s possible when commitment is that pure.

The only thing better than being around someone like that?

Becoming one.

Examples of Serious Commitment in the World

History is full of individuals who changed the world through unwavering commitment:

  • Mahatma Gandhi – Committed to nonviolent resistance, leading India to independence against overwhelming odds.

  • Nelson Mandela – Spent 27 years in prison and never gave up on his vision of ending apartheid.

  • Leonardo da Vinci – Pursued mastery in multiple disciplines, demonstrating relentless curiosity and dedication.

  • Martin Luther King Jr. – Risked everything to bring civil rights to the forefront, never backing down despite immense opposition

  • Elon Musk – Regardless of your personal opinion about him, his commitment is remarkable, redefining industries by pushing the limits of technology, and refusing to accept conventional thinking.

  • Serena Williams – Dominated tennis through sheer perseverance, reshaping the landscape of women's sports.

The Ultimate Example of Commitment

Perhaps the greatest example of commitment is Jesus. According to the Bible, he knew his fate—he could have fled, escaped, or taken an easier path. Yet he stayed.

He walked straight into the fire, fully aware of what awaited him. Why?

Because his commitment to truth, God, and the divine will, was absolute. No hesitation. No self-preservation. Only unwavering surrender to a higher purpose.

If that level of commitment is possible, what does that mean for us?

His commitment is beyond words. It leaves me speechless and in awe and it stands as the ultimate example of what happens when surrender is absolute.

Why Serious Commitment to Consciousness Matters

If lasting peace, love, joy, or truth is what you desire, it requires dedication.

As you know, being a conscious seeker isn’t a casual hobby. It takes:

  • Facing fears instead of avoiding them.

  • Sitting with discomfort instead of numbing it.

  • Releasing attachment instead of clinging to illusions.

  • Dissolving the ego instead of feeding it.

  • Letting go of resistance versus denying it

  • Letting love flow vs ‘minding’ life

What Are You Seriously Committed To?

Are you committed to:

  • Being a great parent?

  • Building a business?

  • Your health, success, and achievements?

  • Your status, wealth, or reputation?

And What Would Happen If You Added ‘Expanding Consciousness’ to Your List?

What would happen if you made expanding consciousness just as important as your business, your health, your relationships, being a parent or whatever else is on your list?

What if you made it number one? Something to sit with…

Because without serious commitment, what is sought likely won’t be realized. And then the cycle continues—we die, return, and begin again.

Conclusion: The Power of True Commitment

Commitment shapes reality. When you are truly committed to something, things move, obstacles dissolve, and limitations fall away.

If you are truly committed to expanding consciousness in whatever way that looks for you, take a moment, close your eyes, and let that commitment land, take hold, and move through you.
