In 2015 he was inspired by his ambition for more impact and a greater sense of freedom in his life as a coach building his own independent coaching business. He went from charging $50 per hour to building a high-fee, global online coaching business with velocity and heart, and is known all over the world for helping coaches do the same.
“I've been through it all, from feeling lost and overwhelmed when it came to 'finding' clients to being totally stuck when I heard countless times ‘no’, because of the money. Most of all, I experienced huge frustration because I knew I had something special to offer and share with the world, the problem was that I didn’t know-how”.
With a willingness to believe that he could figure it all out and create something extraordinary - he sought out and worked closely with some of the most forwarding thinking personal and professional experts in the world (such as Gary Bishop, Rich Litvin, Daniel Priestley, Shanda Sumpter) while building a seven-figure coaching business as the CEO/Co-Founder of High-Performing Coach (2019-2023).
“We showed Coaches how to launch and grow their business in the most efficient ways while avoiding the pitfalls that come with the fact that they have never built a successful coaching business before and no one has effectively shown them how - pitfalls such as trying to reinvent the wheel and/or investing heavily in advertising before they are ready”.
Ryan believes that the real magic ingredient to becoming a High-Performing Coach is not landing pages/funnels/ads, “everything has a time and a place and it doesn’t work to try and run before you can walk. The secret to building a successful coaching business is a coach’s ongoing personal transformation and their tenacity to break through every single barrier that stands in their way. In doing this they become unstoppable and have so much to give away - clients want to work with someone like that. This is what I refer to as being the Real Deal and this is what it takes to become a truly great coach. I talk about this extensively in the book and have shared this core idea and how to achieve it since the start of my coaching career in 2011”.
Ryan exited HPC in November 2023, "It was a great experience I’ll always be grateful for, but I’d outgrown the business and moved beyond its topics. Something had been brewing inside me for a while, calling me to trust my instincts and give it space. So, without fully knowing what it was, I left, took a sabbatical and let it emerge in its own good time."
